let the garlic talk

each time we harvest (summer to autumn) our garlic leaves behind tiny garlic satellites
they tell you when to plant your next set of cloves
you know, those garlic cloves that you hid from the fillet steak platters all winter
if you are not confident that your garlic crop left behind satellite indicators of great worth, 
then just plant one or two cloves at the edge of your future garlic plot
and when you see them punch through the soil
it is time to get your cloves in

rule of thumb is plant in the shrtst day and harvest in the longggeeest day
but rules of thumbs, if handy sometimes, are for those who don't won't or can't observe
